Strautmann forage transport wagon with 30.5" tyres
For the 2024 harvesting season, the Strautmann forage transport wagons Giga-Trailer will be available with 30.5" tyres. Apart from the tyre options, the superstructure has also been revised.
For more soil protection and less rolling resistance, Strautmann now offers the option to equip all Giga-Trailer models with 30.5" tyres, the maximum tyre size then being 800/45 R 30.5.
The two large models Giga-Trailer 460 and Giga-Trailer 540 are equipped with a hydraulic chassis with a wheel base of 1820 mm as standard. For these two models, the 30.5" tyres are available as an additional equipment option.
For the 30.5" tyres, the Giga-Trailer 400 must be equipped with a stronger, optional boogie chassis, which has a longer wheelbase of 1820 mm and a higher axle load of 19.2 t in total. In combination with a tongue load of 3 t on the drawbar, the Giga-Trailer 400 can now reach a gross vehicle weight rating of 22.2 t. Furthermore, the Giga-Trailer 400 is fitted with a new, reinforced vehicle frame, in order to reliably absorb the higher forces due to a higher total weight and larger wheels.
All Giga-Trailer models can be equipped with VF tyres on request, such that with a constantly low tyre pressure, maximum protection of the soil on the agricultural areas is ensured.
Apart from the tyre options, the superstructure, which has conical side panels from now on, has also been revised, such that the cargo space widens towards the rear by 50 mm. Thus, the loaded material loosens from the side panels as soon as the transport floor starts, which enables faster and easier discharge.
